String on the Crucifix using knotting tool to make the final knot, see instructions below
For first knot hold cord between finger and thumb approximately 7 inches from end
How to Make the knot
Wrap cord around finger and over fingernail so it is pointing up. (this will allow for easier removal of knot off finger at a later step)
Make another wrap around finger parallel to first wrap, cross over.
Be careful not to twist cores as you wrap. The two top cords need to lay flat and parallel to each other.
Hold down top two cords in the centre pressing with thumb so the cords do not slip.
Gently slip loop off your finger and thread end of cord through the loops from knuckle toward finger tip.
do not pull cord tight until knot is in correct position
Hold knot while gently rolling and pressing, slowly pull cord tight.
For the joining knot, making the circle, make a regular knot using both cords
Crucifix- thread the cord through the hole, fold the cord up to the knot leaving the Crucifix on the left and the Rosary on the right, wrap the cord around your finger to make a triple knot.
Simple knot for Mission Rosaries
Make a loop as you would normally make a knot, right over left over and under, loop the long end over and under 2 more times through the loop, gently but firmly pull ends to tighten the knot, rolling the knot gently with your fingers moving it as close to but NOT right tight against the bead.
NOW IF THERE IS NOT ENOUGH CORD unwrap loosen the cord to lengthen, wrap again, continue making the knot, slide one the cord one stand or the other sliding up to the knot.
Knotting tool to make the final knot for Mission Rosaries
String on the Crucifix.
With the tool and Crucifix in your left hand, the Rosary in right, wind the cord clockwise over knotting tool.
Cross cord over short length to form an X.
Wind cord around tube 2 times. Be sure that the cord passes over the grooved tube behind the X toward the left hand.
Slid the end of the long cord used for winding underneath all loops in the groove of the tool from bottom (your hand) to the top and out.
Slip knot off slowly, holding the right end cord lightly in the right hand, with the left hand twirl knot into position and gently tighten.
NOW IF THERE IS NOT ENOUGH CORD unwrap loosen the cord to lengthen, wrap again, continue making the knot, slide one the cord one stand or the other sliding up to the knot.
